Pricing Policy

The Elephant’s Trunk reserves the right to establish the sales price of merchandise that we accept for consignment in our shop.

Your items will be reviewed by a team of two pricers. (We appreciate learning the history of an item and desired price and will take that information into consideration) The final determination of price is at the discretion of the pricers.

Our pricers are people with years of experience in the retail consignment process, however we do not provide certified appraisals. In you have paid for an appraisal elsewhere, we will consider that documentation in setting a price for sale at The Elephant’s Trunk.

Any estimate or opinion expressed by any staff member of The Elephant’s Trunk with respect to the anticipated selling price of any item is a statement of opinion only and The Elephant’s Trunk makes no guarantee, warranty or agreement with respect to the sale price of any item prior to completion of each individual consignment process.

The Elephant’s Trunk may remove any item from sale if found to have a defect not detected at time of consignment.

The Elephant’s Trunk assumes the cost of all advertising, handbills, mailings, set-up and display, packaging, financial transaction fees along with computer processing and maintenance of your account. Clerical and other services are provided by our Volunteer Staff.

You will receive 50% of the final selling price of your items. Checks for sold items will be mailed after the tenth day of the month following the actual sale date.

The Elephant’s Trunk reserves the right to express opinions as to the condition and authenticity of any item before or at the time of sale.

The Elephant’s Trunk Liability: Precautions and reasonable care will be taken for all consigned items. However, The Elephant’s Trunk is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items.
